Music is a big part of my family’s life. Both my children play the piano to a good standard and my daughter also plays the clarinet, sings in a choir, plays keyboards in a band and writes and performs her own songs. This is a shot of her working on her latest classical piano piece, Gigue from Partita in B flat by J.S. Bach, which involves a lot of crossover hands.
beautiful composition… monochrome is perfect for it..
Thank you, Helen.
The lighting and shadows are quite nice, Rachael, and Helen’s right — it’s perfect in black and white! It must be lovely to be surrounded by music – do you also play? (I’m missing my piano now, as it’s been in storage since we embarked on our sabbatical last autumn. Here’s hoping I won’t forget everything once we’re reunited!)
Thanks, Trish. I do play but both of my children have surpassed me.

Beautiful b&w Rachael, the light shining on her hands and keys is wonderful.
Thanks, Karen.
Love this!
Thank you!
Lovely shot. She has elegant hands – perfect for the piano.
Thanks, Debbie. She does π
Now I’ll go find Gigue to listen to, while looking at those lovely hands.!
Thanks. I hope you enjoyed it.
Beautiful shot, and nice hands!
I wish I could play piano that well, I used to learn it, but now I play drums, mainly because I’m not that good at getting my head around this pitch thing.
Keep up the good work!

Ha, you made me smile. Pitch can be a bitch ;). I don’t know where my children get their musical talent. It’s not from me.
